5 things I do differently

I love being my age now!

Every year I get older, I realize what I USED to do and what I do NOW. I have to say that I am LOVING this shift! I’m learning more about myself and discovering what is worth giving my time and energy!

Recently I thought through and rounded up the five things I do differently now, and I would LOVE to share them with you. Read on to hear me explain what I am choosing to do more of, and what I am doing less!

Five Things I Do Differently

Number one is that I have experienced an EXERCISE SHIFT. That’s right, the first thing is exercise! I now work out for pleasure, not for pain!  I saw a sign the other day while walking down the street for a new Pilates class. It said high intensity, no pain no gain. I was like, that’s a no for me!

Now when I head out for my exercise, I walk around the block and go as slowly as possible. I take my dog, Lucy, I look around, listen to music. This is SO beneficial to my body and my mind!

I also stretch now more than ever! I stretch because it feels good! I also do Yoga, Yoga with Adrienne. She’s the bomb on the Internet! Sometimes I just do her 15 minute stretch and wake up routine. Its just lovely! You need to try Yoga With Adriene’s 15 minute SUNRISE yoga, I love it!

 

Listen to What Your Body Is Telling You

Number 2, I EAT WHAT MY BODY WANTS. I now choose to eat differently. I do NOT diet! I eat butter, half and half, I eat what I want and I stop when I’m full. I believe that our bodies are a pretty good trigger and indicator of what you needs and what you want. So EAT it! That’s my advice!

 

Pleasant Surroundings Are Key

That brings me to number 3 of the five things I do differently! And that is intentionally spending my time in pleasant surroundings. I am a total Zen person now and really value spaces that are good for my mental health! Think light and airy! My new, studio is super pleasant and filled with the best natural light! I even by myself flowers because they make me happy! I  believe pleasant surroundings are absolutely key to being happy when you get older.

Wear the Clothes That Make You Happy

Number 4, I choose to only wear COMFORTABLE CLOTHES. Anything I wear HAS to be STRETCHY! It has to be yoga pants and stretchy. Don’t you agree? This mindset shift has been a huge one in the five things I do differently to help focus on my overall mental health and well being!

 

Less Stress is Best

That brings me to the last of the five things I do differently, but one of THE most important! Number 5 is LESS STRESS. I use to freak out when I didn’t have business. So now, I focus on the fact that I’m in an office space that is very affordable. I’m at a place in my business where I don’t have to photograph people I don’t click with, and my clients want to work with me! Its great! I’m learning how to avoid stressing out when it’s not super busy. I actually like the downtime! I’ve been loving chilling in my new studio with my dog, working on editing or creating videos.
