Denver Headshots for Women Over 60

Why Your 60s are the Most Important Time for a Denver Headshot

I’ve spent the last 22 years behind the camera, primarily capturing the spirit of women. Over those two decades, I’ve seen the industry explode with campaigns for the “Fabulous 40s” and the “Fierce 50s.” I’ve run those campaigns myself, and they are wonderful.

But as a woman who is now 60+ myself, I’ve noticed a glaring hole in the narrative.

There is a massive community of us who aren’t “done” just because we hit sixty. Whether we are still leading in the boardroom or preparing to step into a well-earned retirement, we are at the height of our wisdom. We deserve to be seen.

1. The Power of the Professional “Current”

If you are still working, your headshot shouldn’t be a 10-year-old “relic” of who you used to be.

  • Experience is an Asset: A portrait in your 60s communicates a level of authority and seasoned expertise that a 30-year-old simply can’t replicate.
  • The Message: When you show up with a modern, high-quality portrait, you tell the world you are relevant, tech-savvy, and fully present in your career.

2. Celebrating the “Grand Shift”

If you are retiring, a portrait is the ultimate gift to yourself. It’s a way to mark the transition from what you do to who you are. It’s about creating a legacy image for your children and grandchildren—showing them a woman who is confident, happy, and proud of the life she has built.

Owning the “Bits” We Dislike

I hear it in my studio every single day: “Can you hide my neck?” or “I hate my arms.” We all have those “body bits” that we’ve spent years criticizing in the mirror. But here is the truth: those lines are the map of every laugh you’ve had and every challenge you’ve overcome.

My job isn’t to make you look like a different person; it’s to help you own your space. When we work together, we acknowledge those insecurities and then we accept them. It’s a form of self love. I use my 22 years of experience to position you in a way that feels powerful, not self-conscious. You’d be surprised how quickly you will own all parts of you, right now, with this body at this beautiful age. I’m your coach.

The “No-Filter” Philosophy: Why Lighting is Better Than Retouching

In a world of AI filters and heavy “Photoshopping,” I take a different approach. I believe that if a photographer relies too heavily on retouching, they didn’t do their job during the shoot.

Authenticity is the highest form of beauty.

My goal is to keep retouching to an absolute minimum. Why? Because I don’t need to “fix” you when I have the right tools:

  • The Right Light: Good lighting can soften skin and brighten eyes more naturally than any software.
  • Flattering Poses: Posing is a science. I know how to angle your body to highlight your best features.
  • Wardrobe Strategy: I provide specific tips on textures and colors that complement your skin tone and shape.

When you get the lighting, the pose, and the wardrobe right, the result is a photo where you look like the best possible version of yourself—not a plastic version of a stranger.

You Are Not Invisible

Society might try to tell us that our “prime” is behind us, but I disagree. I think we’re just getting to the good part. You have the confidence now that you lacked in your 20s. You have the stories now that you hadn’t written in your 40s.

It’s time to step in front of the lens and celebrate the woman you’ve worked 60+ years to become.

Are you ready to see yourself through a different lens? I’m looking for women in their 60s who are ready to celebrate this chapter. Whether it’s for your business or your family, let’s create something timeless.

My studio is located in the Denver Metro area in Littleton, Colorado. Though many of my clients travel from other states to experience this fabulous photo session for women over 60. My studio is my “spa”. So get ready for some chocolate and snacks, beautiful floor to ceiling windows, hard wood floors, diffused oils (I love the smell of “thieves”), and some Motown and 80’s music.
