5 Reasons Why I Chose Kelly Weaver Photography

Hi! I am Naomi Amsler, a senior at Arapahoe High School class of 2021. In the Summer of 2020, I was looking for a Littleton senior photographer to take my senior yearbook pictures. With many Littleton photographers in the area, I was struggling to find a good photographer to take my yearbook pictures. Not only did I want a reasonably priced photographer, but I also wanted a photographer that would take good photos for my graduation announcements. Below are 5 reasons why I chose Kelly Weaver Photography as my Littleton senior photographer.

1. My yearbook picture mattered to me

We all want our yearbook photo to look good, right? I think for any senior this is a big deal, especially since a large percentage of seniors have their senior photo taken by a professional. I like to have my pictures look natural. By choosing Kelly Weaver Photography, she specializes in natural-looking photos. And by having a professional take your senior photos they can touch up the image and make it look natural, just like Kelly does! As a Littleton Photographer, one of Kelly Weaver’s main focuses is making her photos look as natural as possible.

2. I connected with Kelly as she photographed me and it put me at ease

If you have ever gotten your pictures taken by a professional photographer, one of the things you may have noticed is the quality of your pictures. I think that this really depends on the connection you have with your photographer during the session. Since I chose Kelly Weaver Photography for my senior photos, I really felt appreciated and relaxed during my photo session. By having a photographer that is friendly and relates with you during the photo session I think that this makes a hundred percent difference. You will notice a big difference when having a photographer that is friendly and relates with you during the photo session, which is something that I experienced during my session. This is why sometimes it might be better to go with a smaller photography studio. A smaller studio allows you to get to know the photographer on a more personal level. If you end up going to a larger photography studio, it is likely that there will be multiple photographers, and you will not know who you are going to get; this can directly affect your mood and confidence during the session. If you choose Kelly Weaver as your Senior Photographer, you will have made the right choice, and be very satisfied with your results!

3. I had many unique, natural backgrounds to choose from

Many photographers use different backgrounds, but not all of them are as unique when compared to Kelly’s photography backgrounds. Kelly is a unique Littleton Photographer because she uses unique natural backgrounds. Being photographed in a natural environment makes a great contrast in the photos. If you are photographed in a natural setting, it can bring out details of you that you may have never seen before in photos of yourself, when compared to a staged or unnatural background. If you go to a larger photography studio, most of the time they have staged backgrounds. Sometimes, if you are being photographed in front of a staged background, you may not feel as comfortable and relaxed as you would in a natural background.

4. I felt comfortable during my senior session

When experiencing something new we all want to feel comfortable. Most of us do not want to be outside of our comfort zone, but sometimes if we want something new and different we have to take that first step of courage. Being photographed for senior photos, or any kind of photos for that matter can cause stress and anxiety, especially if we feel self-conscious. We all want to look good in our photos right? But a lot of us don’t like ourselves in photos in the first place; I know I don’t. But after choosing Kelly Weaver as my Littleton Senior Photographer, I was very impressed with the outcome of my photos, and how I looked in them! Kelly really did make my photos look amazing and as natural as possible, by not over-editing, and giving the photos great coloring as well. During a photo session with Kelly, she will make sure that you feel comfortable and have everything that you need; which is exactly how I felt during my senior photo session. One highlight of my session is the fact that Kelly specifically showed me, and told me how to pose. I realize that this takes a lot of patience and commitment from Kelly, and I am very grateful for that. Something else that I enjoyed, was that Kelly showed me the pictures throughout the session after we took them. Although a lot of teens would be more comfortable with their friends behind the camera, sometimes this is not always the best option for senior photos. The reasoning for this is that they are not professionals; meaning that your friends could not tell you how to pose correctly, know the correct lighting situations, and give you clear directions. I know that going to a professional photographer may be on the pricier side, but Kelly Weaver Photography takes this into consideration and remembers that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will allow you to get the best deal for your senior photos.

5. My senior pictures helped me see myself in a positive light

I think it is always a good idea to get your photos done by a professional photographer because it can help you see yourself in a different way. I always remember the phrase “A picture is worth a thousand words” because it is true that a photo can tell someone’s story or their emotion at that moment. What is nice about getting your senior photos done professionally is that your photos look good. From personal experience, I know that when I look good, it makes me feel better and makes me look at myself in a more positive and accepting way. In this day and age, a lot of teens use social media where there are thousands of pictures posted each day. Social media can be used in many different ways, whether positive or negative. We all want to be noticed, realized, and accepted in the world. We want our voices to be heard. I’m such a shy person when it comes to socializing, but what really helps me is encouragement. This is one thing that Kelly does during her photo sessions, she encourages and comments on the flaws that we may not like or even see. A senior she happened to photograph this past summer for senior photos said, “Before the session, I didn’t really know if I would look good being photographed, and I was worried I would look awkward, uncomfortable, or forced in the pictures. Though after the session, I felt a sense of confidence. I think Kelly helped me really be myself in the photos and it totally paid off!” After seeing and being in a photo session with Kelly, there is definitely a brighter side of everyone, in the end, we are all beautiful in our own ways.

If you are a senior mom or upcoming senior, I can’t recommend Kelly Weaver Photography enough. She helped me feel completely comfortable.
