What to Wear for Your Littleton Senior Photography Session

Are you planning what to wear for your Littleton Senior Photography Session? We’ve got you covered!

Below are 10 fashion tips we have compiled to help you take the guesswork out of putting together your best outfits.

• Tip #1 -Wear your favorite outfit to your Senior Photo Session! This should be an outfit you look and feel great in! Accessories with special meaning like earrings, necklaces, bracelets, belts, hats, scarves, and awesome shoes will add character and a “pop” to your portraits.

• Tip #2 – Bright, solid colors that work with your eye color and skin tone work the best! Avoid bold colors and large prints as they are distracting and draw attention away from YOU! But, hey, we are all about “breaking the rules” when it comes to adding some pattern. Love a floral shirt or dress? bring it!

• Tip #3 – Girls, Closer fitting tops – not skin tight, are more figure flattering flowy tops. Consider tailored shirts and jackets that come right to your hip bone. Tailored will always beat “loose and flowy”.
  • Guys, we do some full length shots! Be sure to wear dark socks and shoes you don’t mind showing off!

• Tip #4 – Pay attention to your undergarments! Girls, beige or skin tone undergarments are preferred. Make sure nothing shows underneath the outfits you will be wearing without any visible lines.
  • Guys, wear pants that are high enough on your waist that no undergarments show when you sit down.

• Tip #5 – Guys, cotton button ups may look great in person, but they don’t photograph well and tend to look wrinkled. If you wear a button up, bring along a jacket! Or consider a KNIT shirt that is high quality (not 100% cotton) that lays flat and is neatly pressed.

• Tip #6 – Wear pants with pockets and that will lengthen your legs. If your pants are too low and your shirt is really long, your legs will look very stubby. Jeans are always a great choice!

• Tip #7 – Girls,  a dress that fits close to your body, but flares out on the bottom works really well and is ideal for moving or twirling shots. We have the PERFECT field area with tall wild grass, that works perfectly for a fun dress.

• Tip #8 – Wear shoes you don’t mind getting a bit muddy and know they may be seen in full length shots! Also pay attention to your SOCKS, they should be darker if your shoes are darker and light if you wear lighter shoes.

• Tip #9 – Remember your hands! Make sure your hands groomed are  as they will show in your photos. Chipped nails and polish stands out and will pull attention away from your beautiful face.

• Tip #10 -Bring backup! Bring an extra shirt or jacket that’s easy to change into. Also, wearing a white camisole or t-shirt underneath makes an outfit change quick and easy. We have MANY changing areas to use.
