Denver Photographer
We are excited for you to prepare for your photoshoots! Deciding what to wear in your photoshoot is important and these helpful tips will help to make your process easy and fun!
Keep in mind, we will be photographing you mostly from the waist up, but dress HEAD to TOE just in case we pull back (this means to be sure to wear a nice pair of shoes).
Please be sure to check your confirmation email to confirm how many outfit changes your package comes with.
Tip #1 – Try to wear your favorite outfit. Usually your favorite outfit is something you look and feel great in!
Tip #2 – Solids work best. Bold colors as well as large prints, stripes or patterns may be distracting and draw attention away from you.
Tip #3 – Socks and Shoes: We do some full length shots! Be sure to wear dark socks and shoes you don’t mind showing off!
Tip #4 – KNIT shirts that fit closer to your body are best as they tailor the body and don’t look as wrinkled. You can also wear them with or without a jacket.
Tip #5 – Cotton button ups may look great in person, but don’t photograph well because they tend to look very wrinkly. If you do want to wear a cotton button up shirt bring a tailored jacket to go over the top.
Tip #7 – Wear pants with pockets, high enough on your waist that when you sit we don’t see your boxers (trust us… heart pattern boxers are NOT flattering). Jeans are totally fine to wear!
Tip #8 – Wear shoes you don’t mind getting a bit muddy and don’t mind seeing in the pictures (we do get some full length shots)
Tip #9 – Consider bringing boots, hats, letter jackets, sporting props (if session allows props) and other accessories to help capture your personality.
Tip #10 – Bring backup! Bring an extra shirt or jacket that’s easy to change into. Also, wearing a white t-shirt underneath makes an outfit change quick and easy.
Wear your first outfit to the shoot! Bring your others on hangers WRINKLE FREE as removing wrinkles will cost extra.
Your outfits should include EVERYTHING you plan on including: shoes, jewelry, belt, jacket for example, and you will want them separated by outfit.
Remember: If the senior does not present the item, we don’t know to photograph it.
If you take a picture of your outfits on your cell phone prior to arrival, you will easily remember what goes with what.
Please BE PREPARED and don’t bring a large bag of clothes to go through.
Included in Packages 2 and above is a free Wardrobe Consult before your scheduled photoshoot! So there is no need to stress over what outfits to bring the day of your session! Simply schedule a short Zoom call with Kelly to show her your outfit ideas.
Kelly Weaver will personally talk you through your outfit and accessory choices to ensure that your selections fit your photoshoot and your personality! She will also sort through your outfits while you do your makeup to determine the order & give any advice.
Open Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
